The 1958 National Order of the Arrow Convention was held at Kansas University in Lawrence, Kansas.

One of the highlights of the event was when E. Urner Goodman, the founder of OA, visited with the Lodge and posed for a group photo (below). The Lodge presented its totem to Dr. Goodman and he is wearing the totem in the photo.

Dr. Goodman also graciously signed autographs; Russ Sarver reports when Dr. Goodman signed his sash he asked him to also write the word "founder" underneath his autograph, which he then did with a smile.
